Remember last week, when I wrote this post about the stupid pro-abortion/anti-McCain flyers I’d gotten in the mail from the Florida Democratic Party?
Well, the day after that, I got another flyer. Different look, same message. And the day after that, I received yet another. Apparently, they are putting an awful lot of money into trying to convince people that abortion is “necessary” and “good” for our society.
The third flyer included a standard pro-abortion quote (i.e., “If abortion is made illegal, things will be oh-so-bad for us all”), accompanied by a photograph of the woman who made the quote. I’ll leave off her name, but she is identified as a “member of Planned Parenthood.”
Can I just tell you that this woman looks like she is forced to exist on a diet of lemons and vinegar? She has the most sour, bitter, mean expression on her face and the hardest look in her eyes. She does not look like a nice or happy person at all.
Which got me thinking: Is it even possible, in truth, for someone who is pro-abortion to experience real and abiding joy, peace, and love?
I know we all struggle to find these things—even those of us who are pro-life. But if someone spends her mental energy (and maybe even her money) striving to find ways to kill unborn babies—or even just supporting the idea of it as a theory—how can such a person truly have love in her heart and be at peace and feel real and abiding joy?
Hmm. You tell me.
