Outside My Window…The sun is not up yet. Even so, it’s warm. I’ve got a red pepper ripe and ready to pick out in the porch garden. My marigolds are still going to town, even though I’ve been bad and haven’t deadheaded them like I should.
I am thinking…About all the ideas I have for novels. Not nearly as much time to write as I would like, but there’s plenty of time to think while doing dishes and folding laundry. I’ve got that “itch” to write at the moment—big time.
I am thankful for…My sweet boys. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without them. Pretty depressing, I am pretty sure!
From the kitchen…Not much, at the moment. Supper plans for the week include nachos, chicken and stuffing casserole, and pancakes. Yep, I’m due for a trip to the grocery store!
I am wearing…Jeans shorts, a royal blue T-shirt, bare feet.
I am creating…This blog post—and not much else at the moment.
I am going…To have a day at home. It wasn’t the plan. On a normal Monday, I would be going to Bible study in the morning; but little Levi is sick with a high fever and runny nose. I am sorry to be missing my class, but at the same time, it’s rather nice not to have to venture out. I’m tired.
I am reading…The latest issues of Southern Living and Victoria magazines; the Bible book of Acts (still—it’s a long one!); and not much else. I am between books right now. Last night I finished She’s No Princess by Laura Lee Gurhke. It was very cute, romantic, and witty, though slightly scandalous (I wouldn’t let my 14-year-old daughter read it, if I had a 14-year-old daughter!).
I am hoping…My family gets well soon. We’ve all been sick with coughs and colds for more than a week. Well, all of us except my 7-year-old—which is a good thing, since I would hate for him to be missing school.
I am hearing…Blue’s Clues on TV, the little boys quietly drinking their juice and moving about.
Around the house…My kitchen is a mess, and there are too many toys on the living room floor. The boys’ room looks different after the weekend, though: my 3-year-old, who is finally potty-trained, has a big-boy bed now! We used the headboard and foot board from my mom’s childhood bed (and mine); he picked out some Thomas the Tank Engine sheets that he wanted; and the whole thing is topped off with the beautiful handmade quilt my mother-in-law gave him for Christmas two years ago.
One of my favorite things…Going to Mass. It never fails: whatever mood I happen to be in (no matter how crummy), by the time Mass is ended, I feel like a brand new person. There is just nothing else like it on earth.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…Laundry, shopping, reading, writing, doing lessons with my 4-year-old, playing games with my kids, going on a play date, maybe having some kids over to play at our house.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing…
The other day, in between getting batches of these cookies in and out of the oven, I was frantically trying to get my bathrooms cleaned in anticipation of an after-school play date. The little ones wanted to help out, so I handed them each a cleanser-saturated sponge and sent them to work! Here they are in the master bathroom shower. They had a blast, and I’m wondering why I didn’t think to do this sooner!
Be sure to visit Peggy to read more daybooks and/or get the guidelines so you can participate, too! It’s a great way to share about your life, “meet” new friends, and find some beautiful new blogs to visit.
Have a terrific week!

Your boys are so adorable… and wonderful for wanting to help! My son is like that – and I pray he never looses that eagerness to help!
Your cookies in the previous post look amazing…
Have a great week!

WooHoo for the new big boy bed! My 2.5yo could still care less about potty training. He was very interested and now he’d rather just wear diapers. *sigh* I have to keep reminding myself it won’t be this way forever.
I tried to talk my crew into pancakes for dinner last night, but my oldest was afraid the maple syrup would upset his stomach even more. Chicken and stuffing casserole sounds yummy!
